Job Description

Kiely & Co is a boutique audit, accountancy and taxation services provider. We are the Irish member of the German Professional Services Alliance. As we continue to expand we are recruiting for the role of an audit manager to manage and deliver external audit engagements from planning through to completion. The role will require proficiency in relevant accounting standards, as well as extensive audit experience. The role holder is expected to manage a portfolio of clients, have responsibility for agreeing audit timetables, briefing the audit team, monitoring budgets and supervising the audit process. 

 

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities will be varied but will include: 

 

  • overseeing audit seniors, ensuring compliance with client and statutory audit methodology requirements, appreciating relevant internal and external market factors, ensuring the effective and timely delivery of engagements 
  • overseeing and directing the budgeting, planning, co-ordination and control of engagements in accordance with client and statutory audit methodology and business requirements to ensure effective service delivery and maximised recoverability 
  • directing, coaching and mentoring the audit team to assist them in the effective delivery of engagements, ensuring cost-effective, timely completion and effective service delivery to the required standard on each engagement 
  • nurturing relationships with clients and staff
  • preparing and negotiating fee proposals for existing clients and assisting in forming propositions for new business 
  • ensuring deadlines are met but for audit and non-audit engagements, taxation services and company secretarial compliance
  • assisting the Partner in monitoring the effectiveness of audit services delivered, providing feedback and reflection on the quality of service accordingly 
  • preparing reports to senior client management and audit committees.

 

Principal Requirements

Qualified Accountant with minimum 4 years PQE, ideally in a medium practice

Highly skilled Auditor

Experience with FRS 102, IFRS and Companies Act 2014

High proficiency in written and oral English

Good interpersonal skills and natural Influencer

Strong business acumen

Ability to work in a team environment

Excellent organisational and planning capabilities

Ability to provide guidance to others

Ability to work to deadlines and deliver under pressure

Excellent computer-literacy skills
