We have the pleasure of enclosing job specification for the position of Practice Trainee Accountant/ Audit Assistant on the CPA Ireland Student Programme 2021/22 with John Mc Carrick & Associates effect from February 28th 2022.

You will be initially employed as a Practice Trainee Accountant/Audit Assistant on the CPA Ireland Student Programme 2022.
You will be working & training in core areas of Financial Accounting, Auditing, Taxation, Forensic Accounting and Office/Administration Duties of the Practice.
You will be required to attend the Professional Education Courses either Online /Virtual as approved by CPA Ireland for Students Student Educating Programme 2021/22 as outlined in Education/Examination & Training programme for period of up to 3 year duration
Compliance with Academic Requirements& Passing the Examination of CPA Ireland with satisfactory attendance classroom Based Learning or Online Learning Courses.
Work Placement as outlined below to include:
- Year 1, 2 & 3 – Full Time Work Placement. 5 day per week (Monday to Friday).
- Following the satisfactory competition of an initial period of training 2 days per week may be consider for remote working to comply with best practice.
Your total salary will be at rate of €24,000.00 per annum and will be subject to statutory deductions in respect of Income Tax / PRSI/ USC as appropriate.
On the successful completion of your probationary period of 6 months your salary will be increased by €1,000.00 per annum for the date that you have satisfactory completion of the probationary period.
Your salary will be reviewed annually at your annual performance review. Salary reviews are performance related and are also related to CPA Ireland Professional Accountancy Examinations success.

Hours of Work
Your normal working week is five days, Monday to Friday inclusive. The normal working day is between hours of 9.00a.m.to 5.15 p.m. (Lunch Time is generally between 1.00pm – 2.00pm each day.)
The policy of our Firm is that Holiday period will run from 1st January to 31st December each year. Your entitlement will be 22 days per annum apportioned pro rata. Holidays are administered in accordance with the provisions of the Organisation of Working Act 1997.
Further Education and Training
Our firm encourages relevant further education and provide financial assistance together with study/ examination leave. A contribution towards Education College Fees, Examination Fees, and Membership Subscriptions to a maximum of €2,500.00 in any 12-month period will be paid during the period.
