Newly Qualified Accountant, Dublin

BLG Chartered Accountants is looking to recruit a highly capable recently (or nearly) qualified accountant to be an integral part of a dynamic, busy team.

Reporting directly to Partner level, the successful candidate will be responsible for the day to day and management accounting functions of a diverse portfolio of clients.

The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator, energetic and excited by the opportunity to work in a fast growing, innovative company.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining the accounts of our clients, including managing the AR function, the AP function and preparing monthly Bank Reconciliations
  • Creating and posting Nominal Journals and month end reconciliation of all Nominal Accounts
  • All day to day banking
  • Payroll management and processing
  • Preparation and filing of Statutory and Revenue Returns
  • Production of Monthly Management Accounts
  • Working with lead Partner to ensure high levels of service
  • Liaising directly with Clients to resolve queries or obtain information
  • Allocating and reviewing work completed by team members
  • Mentoring and overseeing training of junior colleagues
  • Ad-hoc duties as they arise


Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

The successful candidate will exhibit and possess the following characteristics and skills:

  • Degree level qualification and Newly or Part-qualified accountant (CPA, CIMA, ACCA)
  • Hands on and high-level financial skills from Bookkeeping through to Management Accounts and Financial Modelling
  • Previous accounting experience within retail sector advantageous
  • Excellent IT and Systems knowledge – experience of Exchequer desirable
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Previous experience of managing a team with varying levels of experience
  • An ability to get stuck into work in all areas of the business when the need arises.
