Job Titme: Student Recruitment Associate

Reports to (Title): Business Development Lead

Job Purpose:
Responsible for attracting students to the CPA Ireland trainee placement talent pool, supporting students through the recruitment process for CPA Trainee accountant roles, putting students forward for recruitment selection, and preparing them for interviews.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Provide information, guidance, and coaching to students engaged with the CPA trainee placement service.
  • Advising on CV preparation, the interview process, and delivering one-to-one coaching with students prior to the interview.
  • Screening of student applications from Job search, recruitment inbox, LinkedIn, website, and referrals.
  • Calling students in response to applications and discussing how the placement service works, the CPA Qualification and training requirements, the registration process, syllabus, exams, etc.
  • Liaising with employers regarding role specifications, candidate specifications, etc.
  • Assisting employers with developing role profiles and identifying their preferred candidate
  • Creating and approving employer job postings through Job search
  • Presenting students to employers for consideration in their recruitment
  • Coordinating interviews between employers and students
  • Delivering feedback to students
  • Managing the recruitment inbox and all related inquiries
  • Responding to student queries via CPA Website
  • Uploading and maintaining information on internal databases
  • Reaching out to passive students through databases and other relevant channels, in respect of open roles
  • Design, deliver, assess, and evaluate professional development initiatives for students seeking employment. (Trainee remote, CPA Pathway, etc.)
  • Develop, monitor, and evaluate the impact of the CPA Careers webpage, online portal, and Job search engine.
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders on the development of the CPA Ireland trainee placement service
  • Preparing reports as required
  • Following up on student submissions of transcripts for exemptions review

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required

  • Knowledge of the following IT Tools and Systems:
    • MS Office suite
    • Online Recruitment Tools, ( LinkedIn recruiter, Job boards, etc.)
    • Web conferencing tools such as Zoom, MS Teams etc.
    • Digital and IT matters as it relates to Accountancy as a profession and in practice
  • Ability to apply coaching and competency based-interview techniques while providing sound careers advice to prospective students
  • Ability to critically assess and analyse problems and information, making sound judgments and decisions and providing workable solutions
  • Strong interpersonal skills coupled with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative to plan and manage multiple priorities.
  • Ability to build and maintain excellent working relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, students, members, and colleagues.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum Qualification required = Bachelor’s Degree
  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience required.
